About Predator Products INSPECTION: BEFORE YOU CHALK YOUR SHAFT, please check that your shaft is straight and free of dings. If you ordered a complete cue, check that it rolls straight when jointed together and that the butt has no dings or scratches and that it is the correct weight you ordered. SHAFT: The 314s spliced shaft needs no different care than a conventional shaft. We do not recommend sanding. Very fine micro papers or burnishing is about all you need. Do not expose the shaft to excessive moisture. Dont steam the shaft to remove dings, wet only the ding itself or the warranty will be void. FERRULE: DO NOT TRY TO REPLACE THE 314 FERRULE OR TURN IT DOWN BELOW 12.25MM; if you do, it will no longer be covered under warranty. The 314 ferrule is a polymer developed specifically for its properties of stiffness and hardness. Much of the 314 shafts performance can be attributed to our ferrules design and composition. A very fine micro paper (1000 grit) will remove most scratches. Careful sanding is essential since the wood, being much softer, could be sanded to a smaller diameter than the ferrule. TIP: If tip replacement is needed, Predator recommend a tip of medium hardness. (Predator is currently using Le Pro.) Sand the back of your tip to assure flatness and that it is smooth, (the smoother and flatter the better). Apply super glue to adhere to the ferrule. Be very careful when facing the ferrule as the cap is only 1/4inch thick. The ferrule material is soft. It is highly recommended to have a professional cue-maker or cue-repair person do it on a lathe. Remember, the shaft will sand away faster than the ferrule. If the ferrule is over heated on the lathe it will melt. A high polish can be achieved with fine (1000 to 4500 grit) micro papers. STRAIGHTNESS: If you bend your shaft or let others bend it, you will not keep it straight. The 314 shaft is shipped with a straightness tolerance of + or - .005. If your cue doesnt roll straight with our shaft on it, your butt pin may be bent or off center or your butt itself may be warped. UNILOC® JOINT: If you have a UniLoc® Joint it must be kept clean as the joint is built to very exacting tolerances. Predator suggest taking a Q-Tip, dipping it in alcohol and using it to clean out the threads inside the bottom of the shaft. You should then take a rag with some alcohol and wipe your joint pin down. Do this when you first receive your UniLoc® Joint and twice a year after that and it will perform within the exact specifications that it was designed for. If you are interested in becoming a better pool player the Predator 314 shaft dramatically reduces cue ball deflection. Spin is indirectly related to cue ball deflection and the less deflection, the more spin. Predator produces more spin than any conventional cue, which makes it easier to draw, follow and move your cue ball around the table. Focus on the fun of the game. Simply put, Predator makes pool easier because it shoots straighter. The Predator Warranty Your Predator Cue and or 314 Shaft is warranted for life against any manufacturer defect that does not include warpage or abuse. The Pool Cue Warranty The Pool Cue will honor a one-year warranty for all manufacturer defects. Claims after one year are subject to manufacturer approval. Special note: Warping once a cue is chalked is not considered a defect. |
